Why is my Litter-Robot 3 stuck on a solid red light? ›

A solid red light on your Litter-Robot 3 control panel means that the cat sensor was activated by your cat entering the globe while the unit was ready for use. The unit is counting down to a clean cycle, depending on your set wait time (3, 7, or 15 minutes).

If the timing light is flashing red or you are receiving a "Cat sensor fault" notification in the Whisker app, this indicates the cat sensor has been continuously activated for 30 minutes or more, either by a cat that won't leave the globe or by too much weight in the unit.

If your unit is stuck during a cycle, short press the Reset button to continue and complete the cycle. If your unit is still stuck and it is in an error state, long press the Reset button for 3 seconds to zero the weight scale. Turn Litter-Robot off and unplug the unit.

Check for obstructions blocking the drawer full indicator (DFI) sensors. There are two sensors inside the base, above where the waste drawer would sit. Debris, such as dust or cat fur, can interfere with the DFI sensor. This can cause the unit to inaccurately trigger a drawer-full indication.

Press and Release: Pressing the Cycle Button starts the Litter-Robot cleaning cycle. In order to pause the cycle, press any button on the Control Panel during the Clean Cycle. Press Cycle once again to resume the cleaning cycle.

If your unit has a red light bar or the unit will not cycle, this indicates that the cat sensor has been triggered. You will also receive a notification on your phone if you use the Whisker app. The cycle delay countdown has been initiated so the unit will cycle once the time is up.

If your unit's light bar is solid red, this indicates that the cat sensor has been triggered (kitty entered globe). The unit will cycle once the cycle delay countdown is up or if you press the Reset button.

To reconnect your unit, re-enable the connection by pressing the Connect button once to turn the WIFI off, indicated by a white Connect LED. Then, press the Connect button a 2nd time to reestablish the connection. The Connect LED will begin flashing blue again but should change to solid blue after a few seconds.
